14th Annual Casino Night

Saturday, March 9, 2013 7:00pm – Midnight

As we enter 2013 much of our free time and focus goes into the planning of a wonderful event. This year we, the members of The Mechanicsville Rotary Club along with volunteers and staff from Hanover Safe Place, celebrate our 14th Annual Casino Night. Hanover Safe Place is our main beneficiary for this incredible event. It truly takes an innumerable number of people to put this fundraiser together. From Sponsors, to volunteers and prize donators to caterers the amount of cooperation is inspiring.

This year we look forward to a new venue at the ACCA Shriners Temple on Bellevue Avenue. We are very excited about this location; it really brings a note of glitz and glamour to a great night.

Festivities to include:

Heavy Hors D’oeuvres and Open Bar catered by Defazio’s Catering

Gaming provided by Massinno’s Cassinos

Silent & Live Auction

Numerous Raffles

River City Horse Races

There are many sponsorships available for this great event. Please contact Hanover Safe Place (804) 752-2728 or myself @ (804) 226-1500 for more information on these or tickets.

We hope to see you there and look forweard to another great year!

Thank you to EVERYONE!!

Welcome Jane!

Annually, in the state of Virginia, over 300,000 children are exposed to domestic violence (vadv.org).  It is important to remember that children who are exposed to domestic violence need services as well.  Children who experience childhood trauma are more likely to have serious health problems as adults.  It is our hope to meet the needs of children and prevent the long-term effects of domestic violence.  In an effort meet the needs of children in Hanover County, Hanover Safe Place is proud to welcome Jane Yancey as our Children’s Services Specialist.  Jane will be working with children in our shelter program to provide case management, with our children’s support group, and with parents to strengthen parenting skills.  We are so excited to welcome Jane to the HSP family, and look forward to working with her.
